A while ago MSN Search, released the ability to create a custom RSS feed driven by the search results from MSN.
It’s an excellent feature for adding the best search results to a news page in RSS format, although the team at MSN Search may choose to remove the feature if it’s abused, so don’t use it on every page! In order to use the feature simply head on over to the MSN Search beta page, carry out a search, and add “&format=rss” to the end of the URL after the keyword or phrase, without the quotation marks.
Example: Say I do a search for “games”, I get the following url:
http://beta.search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=games&FORM=QBRE
Id remove the &FORM=QBRE and replace it with the &format=rss, and you would get this page:
http://beta.search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=games&format=rss
You can simply add this to your RSS reader or website as a direct syndication.
From an SEO point of view, this is a terrific feature to add the top 10 MSN listings to any page, providing a dynamic and alternating source of content, which as we know increases your overall success in all the search engines over time.
